We moved into our first house over 3 years ago and it's still a work in progress. It's approximately 1,100 sq/ft and sits on a 50x200 lot. It's a 2 bedroom, 1 bath home in a great community. Currently, I only have the before pictures that the realtor took for the listing. However, after the holidays are over and the house has finally been picked up, I'll shoot some current photos to show the transformation that we've been working on for the past 3 years.
Below is the exterior of the front and back of our house when we bought it. Does anyone else think the bushes along the back deck look like broccoli stalks?
Living Room & Office
When you walk in the front door, you enter into the living room & office immediately. Right behind the love seat, but not shown in the picture is a very small coat closet and a recessed shelf. Check out the before and after of the living room here.
Kitchen
Here is the kitchen before. It has two marvelous pass-throughs or as I call them, "hot dog" windows. I would also like to point out the fabulous copper 70's style light fixture over the very classy picnic table. Now, we've been seeing farmhouse tables all over Pinterest, but I hardly consider this stylish. Check out the before and after of the kitchen here.
Master Bedroom
The master bedroom not only has 1, but 3 closets! This would be any girls dream, however, let me tell you, they were nothing but a nightmare. The closets that flank the window are so unstable that I could have punched through them with my fist. Whoever built them, constructed them with some type of cardboard material. And we don't even need to discuss the depressingly small one on the opposite side of the room. Check out the before and after of the master bedroom here.
Second Bedroom
We have finally come to my favorite room in the house, the second bedroom. I would first like to point out that this picture does not do the room justice. Another small bed sits at the foot of the tiny bed in this picture. That's right, 3 small children lived in this 9x10 room. So if we count, that's 3 children, 2 parents, and 1 dog. I'm still trying to figure out how 6 people (yes, I counted the dog) can fit into this teenie, tiny house! Check out the before and after of the second bedroom here.
Bathroom
Unfortunately, the worst room in the house doesn't have many pictures to show how outdated and hideous it really was. The bathroom had brown octagon tiles for the floor with 70's white flowers in them. As for the wall tiles, they were ivory with little gold speckles. The room also stayed with the pea green color scheme that we've been seeing throughout the house. Check out the before and after of the bathroom here.
Family Room
And last, but certainly not least, my husband's favorite room in the house, the family room. This room is surrounded by windows which makes decorating a little hard. Can someone tell me how you are supposed to watch TV on that couch? Check out the before and after of the family room here.So that's it for the before pictures of our house. I promise that the pictures of the fancy, new, redesigned home are on their way soon!
